  Benedicto's in Malvern has only just opened for Sunday lunches. As regular patrons, my wife and I decided to try it out on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, the lunch was most disappointing. There were none of the usual pre-meal olives etc, because we were told that they had run out of them. When we ordered, the waiter told us that there were no potatoes. We were offered free vegetables instead of potatoes and we also ordered some garlic bread.The vegetables consisted of 2 florets of broccoli and 3 rather tired leaves of what we think was Chard. The garlic bread was two slices of normal household bread covered with garlic butter and grilled. These accompaniments were dire and spoiled the chicken dish, which was of a very good standard.Perhaps,the staff should have offered some pasta in place of potatoes. At a cost of £64.95 for lunch, the meal was not good value and we could have done better elsewhere in Malvern. We really like the restaurant and were very unhappy with yesterday's lunch. As a result,we won't hurry back until we are sure that the restaurant has returned to its usual high standard.
